Changes in Red
As we gradually move towards wrapping this renovation up it’s time for us to start planning on how to get things back to normal for both our staff and customers. One of the first steps in this process is returning to the operating hours we had prior to the start of the renovation. As such, effective Tuesday, September 5 the operating hours of all three branches will be changing slightly. Reverting to our previous hours will allow us to consolidate more of our staff at the Central Library so that they can assist in the unpacking, processing, and reshelving of the 40,000+ items we had to put in storage for the duration of the renovation
At the moment, the primary focus of the renovation is to get the carpeting and other flooring installed while also wrapping up work on the electric, fire alarm system, networking cables, ceiling tile installation, etc. While we have come a long way since January, there’s still work to be done and inspections to pass. As you can see from the picture below, the newly installed carpet looks amazing, especially next to our newly painted walls. The next big aesthetic improvement we expect to see is the installation of countertops at our four new service desks so make sure you check back for updates!
