Evening STEM Club

Evening STEM Club for students age 8-18. Hands-on learning and
experimentation program on a variety of Science, Technology,
Engineering, and Math topics. Presented in partnership with Dr. Melissa
Leiden-Welsh, MD Cooperative Extension's 4-H educator. Registration

March 16th Food Scientist: What’s growing in that Refrigerator?
Youth will examine a variety of foodborne illnesses and how to prevent food contamination in the home. Youth will examine how foods change physically and chemically when prepared.
Activity: Youth will examine how personal hygiene affects food and how to safely prepare fresh fruits and veggies. Youth will discover what happens if you don’t use good food safety skills and how heat and acids effect foods.
